HCDCC updates
Register for our March monthly meeting
Register for our monthly meeting tomorrow, March 23 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. The HCDCC’s monthly meetings will now be on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. on Zoom until further notice.
Candidate recruitment form
Election season is upon us and the HCDCC is trying to help Democrats win up and down the ballot in Harford County. Complete our candidate recruitment form if you’re interested in running for office locally. Be sure to share this form with a friend that’s interested in running.
There are numerous local offices where no Democrats have filed to run. We need to ensure Democrats are competing in races all across the county from the County Council to the Board of Education. The filing deadline to run for office is April 15.
Maryland Democratic Party updates
Young Democrats of Maryland trivia night
Join the Young Democrats of Maryland for their trivia night with Eva Lewis, executive director of the Maryland Democratic Party, this Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. on Zoom. It only costs $5 to participate and your support in this fundraiser will directly support YDM's efforts to increase youth voter turnout in the 2022 election. Specifically, your contribution will fund direct contacts and get-out-the-vote activities to inconsistent and new voters registered as Democrats in Maryland.
NDTC/MDP candidate training series
Join the Maryland Democratic Party and the NDTC during their candidate training series, held bi-weekly on Wednesdays. The next training will be on March 30 from 7:30-9 p.m. and is titled "Running in a Red District."
Biden-Harris Administration updates
The bipartisan government funding bill
President Biden recently signed a $1.5 trillion bill that will fund the government through September and provide assistance to the people of Ukraine as they defend their country and their democracy.
Key investments from this legislation include: $13.6 billion in aid for Ukraine, $17.5 billion for education, $1 billion to help launch the President’s Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, $3.2 billion for clean energy projects and manufacturing, and more.
This bill will lower costs for American families and businesses, support our economic recovery, advance equity, and continue restoring U.S. leadership abroad.
President Biden at the DNC meeting
President Biden recently spoke at the 2022 DNC winter meeting and discussed the historic progress Democrats have made in the last year -- including passing the American Rescue Plan and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, with 4,000 projects across the nation already announced.
President Biden touched on the challenges he plans to face head on, including addressing the opioid crisis, prioritizing mental health care, better supporting our veterans, and much more -- to overcome these challenges we must be united.
That wraps up this edition. We’re looking forward to seeing you during our monthly meeting tomorrow. Be sure to follow @HarfordDemocrats on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
