Motivation for the last month; Board of Elections Vacancy; Alsobrooks to Visit Harford

Last Sprint to November 5!

One month from now, we will all have cast our ballots for President, US Senate, House of Representatives, and Ballot Issue 1. We have outstanding candidates for each in Kamala Harris & Tim Walz, Angela Alsobrooks, and Blane Miller, respectively. Our volunteers have been knocking doors, writing postcards, and making phone calls, and attending community events to rally voters to vote for Kamala Harris and Angela Alsobrooks. At this point, it’s all hands on deck as we go that last and extra mile to make sure that we are represented by those who hold the interests of their constituents first, because we aren’t going back!

Harford County Democrats wrote more than 250 GOTV postcards to county Democrats during their Night of Action on October 2!

Democrats gather to knock doors across the county. We will be canvassing regularly between now and Nov. 5. Join our canvassers by signing up here!

Even though we have been working hard in the streets and on the phones, we still know how to have a good time! We want to thank especially the owners of the State Theater in Havre de Grace, who offered their magnificent space for our debate watch parties.

Board of Elections Vacancy - Apply by Monday October 7!

Here’s your reminder that, due to a recent resignation by one of the Democratic members of the Board of Elections, we urgently need to fill a vacancy on the Harford County Board of Elections. Applications (including a resume, short statement of interest, and commitment to availability on the dates of the ballot canvasses, beginning on October 15) are due on Monday, October 7. The DCC will meet virtually on Zoom at 6 pm on October 9 to interview applicants and vote on a nominee, whose name and information will be transmitted to the Governor’s office immediately thereafter. The position does pay a quarterly stipend of $1375. Full details can be found in our previous post here.

Angela Alsobrooks to Visit Harford County

Harford Democrats are invited to clear your calendars between 6 and 7:30 pm on October 11, when we welcome our future US Senator Angela Alsobrooks to our county. Location information will be provided following your RSVP. Let’s give her a rousing welcome!

We invite you to share the above flier widely, as we want to give her a big and rousing welcome! As Harford County Democratic Club president Ronnie Davis put it, “Angela Alsobrooks is coming to Harford County, and with your support, we can make a real difference - let’s come out, show up, and stand united to bring positive change to our community!”
