The Harford County Democratic Central Committee Welcomes New Members
The Harford County Democratic Central Committee held a special meeting on March 13, 2024 to appoint a male member to fill its vacant position. The Committee received two applications and conducted interviews with both candidates, and is pleased to welcome Mr. Anthony Lyon of Bel Air and Dr. Kevin McKinney of Havre de Grace to the committee. Mr. Lyon will be joining the committee as a full voting member, while Dr. McKinney was appointed as an associate member.
Mr. Lyon, a recent transplant to the county from his home state of Ohio, had previously served the Committee first as a volunteer and then as an associate member, to which the Committee appointed him in the fall of 2023. Since joining the committee as an associate member, he has been coordinating volunteer recruitment and organizing events for the upcoming election season. Prior to his work with the Committee, he worked as campaign manager for Sen. Mary Dulany James and as a field organizer for several campaigns in his former home state. Outside of his political work, he enjoys singing for his parish choir and playing tenor saxophone in the Middle River Concert Band.
Dr. McKinney comes to the Committee after a long and successful career as a program manager for the US Army, where he led acquisition programs for information technology systems in support of the Army’s communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. He is currently the vice-president of the Harford County chapter of the NAACP, and volunteers extensively in the community. He holds a doctorate in business administration, and is a veteran, having served in the US Army.
Please help us welcome Mr. Lyon and Dr. McKinney to the Committee!
