Presidential inauguration events
The HCDCC invites you to celebrate the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris with us. The Presidential Inaugural Committee has some upcoming events you can get involved with.
Day of service
On Jan. 18, the Presidential Inaugural Committee is hosting a National Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The theme for the HCDCC will be to donate to a food bank or pantry benefitting Harford County residents and we encourage you to do the same. You can sign up for the Day of Service and learn more about the effort here.
COVID-19 memorial
The Presidential Inaugural Committee is also hosting a memorial to remember and honor the lives lost to COVID-19 across the country on Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. A Washington, D.C. ceremony will feature a lighting around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. It will be the first-ever lighting around the Reflecting Pool to memorialize American lives lost.
You can get involved by:
Encouraging your elected officials to light up city buildings
Asking clergy to ring bells
Lighting a candle in your window on Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m. to join in the countrywide moment of remembrance
Fill out this form to confirm your participation.
Calling for Rep. Andy Harris’ resignation
The HCDCC is joining the other Democratic Central Committees in Maryland's First Congressional District to call on our leadership to pursue significant punitive action against Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md. His actions of disseminating misinformation concerning the 2020 Election, dangerously enabling an angry and armed mob and his verbal and alleged physical altercation have violated Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
In his letter, Harford County Councilman Andre Johnson said he believes that Rep. Andy Harris violated his sworn oath of office by participating in attempts to undermine the free and fair election that legitimately selected Joe Biden to be the next United States President.
Graphic designer needed
The HCDCC needs a graphic designer. They will help the Committee form a new brand identity and help create graphics for our different communications. Email Zack Frink, HCDCC communications director, at communications.director@harforddemocrats.org if you’re interested in filling this role.
