HCDCC seeking locally registered Democrat for male vacancy
Email applications by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021
The Harford County Democratic Central Committee (HCDCC) is now accepting applications to replace an elected male member seat on its Central Committee. Applicants must be male, 18 years or older, a registered Democrat and reside in Harford County, Maryland.
Candidates are asked to submit an application with a resume, cover letter and any additional information they want Central Committee members to know about them. The application deadline is 11:59 pm on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021. Applications should be emailed to the HCDCC secretary at secretary@harforddemocrats.org with the subject line “HCDCC Vacancy.”
HCDCC Chair Carol Bruce said candidates should be enthusiastic about helping promote Democratic priorities in Harford County. “They’ll help take the lead promoting nominees, recruiting candidates and organizing events to grow the local party,” she said.
The vacancy will be filled virtually during an HCDCC special public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Candidates are encouraged to attend to answer any questions the Committee may have. Members of the public can RSVP to attend the meeting by emailing the Secretary.
The seat's term is set to run through July, 2022, but the Maryland Democratic Party changing its bylaws by then will likely alter the length of the term.
Regardless of the length of the seat's term, it's still important for the HCDCC to fill that vacancy. "The official arm of the party needs to be at full strength to defend our elected Democrats and continue to build on gains made in recent elections," said Bruce.
