District A Update; Politics 101

County Council Interviewing Candidates on Monday Dec. 30, and will vote on January 7th.

On the 18th of December, the Harford County Democratic Central Committee interviewed several candidates for the vacancy on the County Council in District A. The seat on the Council, one of two seats held by Democrats, was rendered vacant when former Councilman Dion Guthrie pled nolo contendere to a felony charge in November. The Committee submitted three candidates to the Council for consideration - Nolanda Robert, Zack Frink, and Heather Cantos. The Council must select a member from the list that the Central Committee has submitted. We thank all of our applicants for being willing to serve the residents of District A and of the County, and wish our nominees the best in the next step in the selection process.

The Council will meet on Monday, December 30 at 7:30 PM to interview the candidates in a special meeting that is open to the public. The Council will vote on its selection at its first regular meeting of 2025 on January 7, beginning at 7:30 pm. If you’re able, we encourage attendance in support of our nominees!
