Central Committee Interviewing District A candidates on Wednesday, December 18

Special Meeting will begin at 6:30 pm at the Edgewood Recreation and Activity Center

The Harford County Democratic Central Committee will interview and select candidates to submit to the County Council to fill the vacancy on the Council that was left by the plea by former Councilman Dion Guthrie. The meeting is open to the public and begins at 6:30 pm, and will be live-streamed over Zoom.

Each candidate will have 3 minutes to outline their qualifications and vision for the District, followed by 10 minutes for questions by members of the Committee. The Committee will go briefly into a non-public executive session for discussion, and will then return to select candidates by vote of the elected or full members. The Committee is charged under Section 209 of the County Charter to submit at least three names to the Council for consideration. The Council will then fill the seat by selecting from that list no later than the 13th of January.
